Put yesterday behing youYesterday’s Problems, Today’s Motivation…. Think about that for a few minutes.. Are you done? Or consumed? I can say that this statement consumed my mind. Thoughts began to flood my mind; Am I concentrating on my yesterday or am I continuing to move forward? Have I allowed Yesterday’s problems to completely rule my today? It’s very tough to swallow if you decide that the answer to any of those questions is yes. It then puts you in a predicament, does the fact that our answer was yes create a problem for today that will hinder us tomorrow? This can obviously become an extremely vicious cycle that I sure don’t want to face everyday. Yesterday is a bruad term/time period the yesterday hanging us up can be the literal yesterday or the past month, or year, or years. When you have a problem in your past that seems to hold you back and for some reason you can’t break the hold it has on you today that problem may as well of happened today. After putting some thought to this It is clear to me that we need to use Yesterday’s Problems as today’s motivations. I know, this is another one of those things that I am saying that is a lot easier said than done, but we are built to handle these types of situations.

I started to really try to apply this to my past in my mind this morning and when you honestly think about all the times that something has happened and instead of using it as a building block for the next day or the future in general we tend to lean towards dwelling on the bad and letting it restrain us from moving forward in our journey. It is truly like the cup half full or half empty statement.. Unfortunately far to many of us carry around half empty cups and that is not by the doing of anyone but us, We are the bartenders for our own party, and whether you have a full cocktail or not is completely up to you. I know if I keep asking you to take a minute and think about this or that you will be reading this forever but once again im asking you to stop and take just one minute to look at the past week or two of your life, make sure you are honest with yourself and evaluate if you have allowed a problem of yesterday limit your today… Now that you have used that minute to evaluate your last few weeks you either (A) are like me and you are thinking; Wow, I really am allowing yesterday to dictate my today or (B) You are the optimist of all optimists and you are already working to ensure you build on every problem to continue moving forward and if that is you congratulations you are in the minority on this one.

I am clearly making the decision to no longer allow yesterday’s problems to discourage me or hold me back from furthering myself. Instead I will be making Yesterday’s problems tomorrow’s motivation. Knowing that people all over the world and in many different walks of life are reading this, it is clear to me you may not agree with me at all and that is perfectly fine but I would encourage you to think about this and apply it to your thoughts and then do yourself a favor and “Turn Your Thoughts Inside Out.”
